I’d like to challenge you to read one of the most skipped
over collections of Scriptures in the New Testament. It’s the genealogy of Jesus Christ as found in the Gospel of
Matthew 1:1–16.
If you’re a bit adventurous and have a bend toward being a
diligent student of the Word, I have a challenge or assignment for you. As you read through the next paragraph
that contains the roll call of the family tree of our Savior, make a count of
how many names in this record you actually recognize.
You may be acquainted with some, but of those you do recognize, do you know why you do? Do you know their story? Go ahead now. You can do it. It’ll be fun. I’ve even added some phonetic pronunciations to make it a bit more appealing. Ready? Go!

Without them, there is no salvation for you and I. Take one of them out of the link, and the chain ends. It ends without getting to Jesus. It ends before the Christ child has a chance to make His appearance and serve His gift called ransom to man. Each of these listed was vital to the appearing of our Redeemer. YOUR MINISTRY MATTERS!!
